Unveiling the role of entrepreneurial knowledge and cognition as antecedents of entrepreneurial intention: a meta-analytic study

Abstract Although entrepreneurial intention has been regarded as one of the most important drivers creativity, innovation, and performance in firms, a comprehensive framework that integrates relevant influential factors yet to be developed. Drawing on theory planned behavior social cognitive career theory, this study investigates critical antecedents, mediators, moderators intention. A meta-analytic approach is employed validate proposed hypotheses, 89 primary studies with total sample size 51,919 are analyzed. The results indicate existence differences manner which knowledge influences antecedents individuals who participate new ventures. Furthermore, personal attitude self-efficacy play vital role predicting Demographic characteristics (such age, gender, education background) significantly moderate relationship between intention, indicating men tend adopt more behaviors than women, older positive attitudes have higher propensity start ventures younger ones, those attainment lower self-employment. These findings offer several recommendations.
